Celebrate the new movie Waterwalk! Arts Wisconsin presents the Madison premiere of this true story of a father and son's canoe journey from Lake Michigan to St. Louis, Tuesday, May 22. Reception: 5:30-7 pm, The Brink Lounge, 701 East Washington Ave., Madison | special private movie screening: 7:45 pm, Sundance Cinemas Madison at Hilldale Mall ($5 charge). This is a Wisconsin movie, filmed extensively in locations throughout the state, supported locally and statewide, featuring Wisconsin actors and crew. Be there! - Americans for the Arts has just released its 2012 Creative Industries reports. Based on data from Dun and Bradstreet, the reports show that there are at least 12,953 arts-related businesses in Wisconsin, employing 49,526 people. Statewide and Congressional District data is currently avaliable; state legislative and county data coming soon. Use this information to make the case that the arts create jobs, businesses, inspiration, community, and so much more!
