Film Wisconsin is celebrating the summer release of Universal Pictures “Public Enemies.” Shot on location throughout Wisconsin, this action-thriller from UW-Madison graduate and acclaimed filmmaker Michael Mann stars Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, and Academy Award® winner Marion Cotillard in the incredible and true story of legendary Depression-era bank robber John Dillinger.
The Marcus Theater Corporation, in collaboration with National Association of Theatre Owners, has arranged a benefit for Film Wisconsin featuring a special advance screening of “Public Enemies” at Point Ultra Screen Cinemas, Madison at 8:30 PM on Tuesday, June 30. The event will begin at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Madison Monona Terrace’s gracious Olive Lounge, in downtown Madison, and features a red carpet entrance, classic cars, vintage costumes, hors d’oeuvres and a wide array of beverages provided by Wisconsin breweries. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in period attire and pose for pictures. A silent auction of film memorabilia and other surprises will cap off the reception. Madison media personality Tom Farley will MC the evening. These events are a benefit for Film Wisconsin and Arts Wisconsin, and are sponsored by the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau, 77 Square, Xerlith Printing, and Arts Wisconsin, and are open to the public.
If you are interested in dressing up in 1930s garb for the party, you
can try the Madison Theatre
Guild (608 238-0009) or Children's
Theatre of Madison (608.255.2080), both of which rent costumes to
the general public.
